Active4D website fails after restart.

David Ringsmuth-3
WS2008r2
4D Server v13.5...
A4D 6.1 (partial)

My client updated his Cert.pem yesterday. Upon restart of 4D Server, the web
site would not work.

When I got something to work it was downloading the .html forms instead of
viewing them.

I found that their 4D coding was not updated when we upgraded to 6.1.

Also we were sending raw data.

After addressing these two items, everything worked.

It's like facing the headlights when a restart fails the web site.

Thank God for the archive of this list!

David Ringsmuth

Hi David,

First, avoid RAW data, 4D had several bugs in this area. Second, if 4D can't read/process your SSL cert, the webserver doesn't start. I'd test it with a dummy database w/o A4D to verify the cert.

Greetings,
Peter
