Re: How do I prevent this?

Vogt, Mike
In reply to this post by Doug Hall-6
Hi Aparajita,
I get this same error after I Stop/Start 4D Server and hit the server with any fuseaction request.  If I first go to www.willsub.com, then to a fuseaction, then all is well.

Mike

Re: How do I prevent this?

Doug Hall-6
In my opinion, this should be handled through some sort of error handling.
For one of my sites, I'd like to be able to forward them back to the
sign-in page with a flash message saying that their session timed out or
was reset. For another site, I'd give a similar message, but send them to a
common page that doesn't require a login. I just don't know where I can
intercept Active4D before it tries to configure fusebox.

My 2¢,
Doug

The issue is the define seems to be happening twice and that shouldn’t happen at all. I have to figure out why.

Re: How do I prevent this?

Vogt, Mike
Aparajita,
I first noticed the error 3+ years ago when we upgraded to 4D v13 from v12.  I emailed you the following:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi all,
After upgrading to 4Dv13 (13.5 64 bit) I get the following error when I first hit a page.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
/C/Project/Active4D/fusebox.a4l [main] 11
/C/Project/Active4D/fusebox.conf.a4l [main] 13
define(fuseaction; "fuseaction")

This name is already in use by another entity

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's almost like 4D or Active4D is remembering the variable from when it was running before I stopped and restarted it.  The error goes away in less than a minute.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Mike Vogt
Willsub

I didn't know then that you could make the problem disappear just by hitting the web server with no fuseaction, ie. www.willsub.com

Mike

Re: How do I prevent this?

Doug Hall-6
I get the problem when I bring down the server for maintenance. When I
bring it back up, and try to *refresh* my current web page, it gives this
error. If I go to the site home page (don't provide a fuseaction), it works
fine and clears the problem.

Re: How do I prevent this?

Aparajita Fishman
I’ll look into it this week.

All the best,

Re: How do I prevent this?

Aparajita Fishman
In reply to this post by Doug Hall-6
I have to ask the usual questions (*please* try to remember to give this info in the future):

- Server OS
- 4D version
- TCP layer (4D or NTK)
- Active4D version
- Browser versions
- Send Active4D.ini privately
- Set logging to debug mode and send the Active4D log privately

Many thanks,

  - Aparajita
