Pass a selection of records to an Active4D session?

John Bellos
We make extensive use of Active4D via input forms, then output relevant data using Active4D to pull information from the 4D database based on the input criteria in the same session. This works well for us.

Now we are exploring the idea of invoking these output 'reports' within a 4D web area, but we want to use the selection or record already invoked in 4D to drive what is in the output of our Active4D web page (so no input form).

Ultimately I'm trying to figure out a clean way to get a 'set' of records, or a variable from 4D to an Active4D web page.

Has anyone done this before, or does anyone have ideas on how to accomplish this?

Aparajita Fishman
If you are invoking Active4D within the same process, whatever the selection is on the 4D side will be the selection within Active4D. If Active4D is invoked within a different process, you could use an interprocess named selection.

All the best,
